Bailiff/Field Officer

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Bailiff Officer at Direct Recovery Services limited located in Kingston, Jamaica. The Bailiff Officer will be responsible for carrying out legal orders, serving legal documents, enforcing court judgments, and executing collections duties as required. The Bailiff Officer will work closely with legal professionals, the collection agency, and court personnel to ensure timely and efficient execution of duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and regulations

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Physical fitness and ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Previous experience in a similar role or law enforcement is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Additional certifications or training in debt collections or legal studies are a plus
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience is required
  • Serving of demand letter and summons.
  • perform background checks and address verification.
  • Search and track down customers who default on debt.
  • Negotiate settlements to receive payments on certain percentages of debt.
  • Prevent repeated payment negligence by working out practical debt payments.
  • Maintain electronic records and hard copies of all payment plans, amounts paid, and communications.

Bailiff license or any other certification in the related field.
Previous experience working as a Collections Officer is a plus.
